How we ended up here
Hi, my name is JoAnn Willis and I am the founder of The Nest. I am also a recovered meth addict. I say recovered because of what Jesus did on the cross for us. He defeated satan once and for all. He died to give me the power to say no for the rest of my life.
I danced with that devil meth for the better part of 3 decades. I never understood that it held so much control over my entire life. I knew I was miserable but also very much thought I had it under control.
Meth is extremely deceptive. Once I decided I was done with it, I had to learn how to defeat it. That happened by Jesus showing me who I am in Him. The opposite of dark is light. We have to move in to the light. He used many of his precious followers to love me, teach me, and show me his character through their actions and how they lived their daily lives. Devoted to serving others. They became my Jesus family and I am forever grateful to them.
We learn who Jesus is by studying his word, but also in our actions towards each other. We here at The Nest live to love others and help them find the way best suited for them to start their recovery. We are faith based here but will help anyone with the desire to start a new life. We all have to start somewhere. Our goal is to become a non medical social detox and resource center. Kind of a “welcome mat” to recovery. We will help others locate and complete the required steps to enter a treatment program. We will walk hand in hand with clients as they begin their journey and complete their programs.
