I am an ex-addict, mother of 3, and founder of The Nest. I spent the better part of 30 years making one wrong decision after another. While in active addiction, I basically consumed whatever was available; that is until God touched my life. After many events that should have opened my eyes but did not, (including being arrested) God put a desperately ill woman in my life in need of care. She was soon to be the homeless mother of an addict. She was with me for 2 months until finally the time came. As she was dying, I made her a promise while holding her hand in mine. I promised I would give everything I am and everything I am not to help those still struggling with addiction to find the same healing I have found in Jesus. One night shortly after her passing, I was sitting at the kitchen table, God gave me the vision for The Nest. A Ministery with the goal of providing a safe place for those right off the streets who are addicted. Quickly god’s provisions for this project came flooding into my life and with such ease that I am continually taken by surprise. with friends, mentors, ideas, and different resources that have followed my encounter with God. I have come to anticipate his goodness at every step of the process. He has provided generously; and we have only begun.
