About us

The mission of The Nest is to be a safe place to  begin your journey of restoration. God’s word says in Psalm 91:1, “He shall cover you with his feathers and under his wings you shall take refuge. His truth shall be your shield and buckler.”
The Nest is this place of refuge.  It is a place of no judgement and no condemnation…only the love, grace and acceptance of the All Mighty God.  Where former addicts can help you find the comfort they have found in Jesus Christ and the fullness of being instructed by God’s word.  It is a place to realize how safe we can feel once we realize how much God loves us and how hard He has fought for us. We pray that God will use us to reach out to help those that are lost and wanting help.
The Nest is established to provide a safe place to find resources for rehabilitation and restoration.
The Nest purpose is to work with people who truly want to be free from their addiction to drugs and alcohol, and places them in rehabilitation programs.
The outcome of The Nest involvement is the restoring of people who can become productive individuals within our society.  These efforts will help people to heal and make a real change in their lives.
The Nest is a nonprofit service provided to the addiction community for the purpose of helping the lost, hurting, and addicted find healing and learn to live again.

OUR STORY | THE VISION OF JOANN

I am an ex-addict, mother of 3, and founder of The Nest. I spent the better part of 30 years making one wrong decision after another. While in active addiction, I basically consumed whatever was available that is until God touched my life.  After many events that should have opened my eyes but didn’t, (including getting arrested) God put a desperately ill woman in my life in need of care.  She was soon to be a homeless mother of an addict. She was with me for 2 months until finally the time came. As she was dying, I made her a promise while holding her hand in mine.  I promised I would give everything that I am and everything I am not to helping those still struggling with addiction to find the same healing that I found in Jesus. One night shortly after her passing, I was sitting at the kitchen table, God gave me the vision for The Nest.  A ministry with goal of providing a safe place for those right off the streets who are addicted. Quickly God’s provision for this project came flooding into my life and with such ease that I am continually taken by surprise. With friends, mentors, ideas and different resources that have followed my encounter with God, I have come to anticipate His goodness at every step of the process.  He has provided generously; and we’ve only begun.
